Common questions
How is COD reconciled?
Riders and PUDO partners deposit collected cash on a fixed schedule. Each deposit is matched to the parcels it relates to and posted against the seller's COD ledger.
When am I paid out?
On the agreed payout cycle (typically weekly), net of MFT's COD service fee. The remittance is sent with a line-item statement of every order included.
What if the customer refuses on delivery?
The parcel is returned through Returns Handling and the COD is not collected. You see the refusal reason and the parcel's resolution path in the same view.
Is COD available in every market?
Where regulation and partner infrastructure allow. Availability is confirmed per market in your operating plan, with mobile-money alternatives offered where COD isn't viable.
Can a buyer pay with mobile money instead of cash?
Yes, in markets where a mobile-money rail is configured for collection — the rider takes payment on the till or wallet recorded for your account and waits for the confirmation before handing over the parcel. Each country page lists the collection methods actually configured for that market, so you can state the right options at checkout.
What currency am I settled in, and can I be paid in another one?
Collections settle in the market's local currency, shown per market on the COD & SLA notes page. Conversion or consolidated cross-market settlement is a commercial arrangement confirmed in your service schedule rather than a default.
What happens if a buyer only pays part of the amount?
Part payment is logged as its own outcome with the amount taken and a reason code, and the shortfall appears as a flagged line on the daily reconciliation rather than being quietly netted off. You decide whether the parcel is released, held or returned under the rule set at onboarding.
