Last mile delivery

Last mile delivery in Uganda: door, collection and COD.

How last mile delivery works in Uganda: door delivery on published coverage rows from Kampala, PUDO collection where it is configured, and cash on delivery captured per order.

Delivery options

The three ways a Uganda order reaches its buyer

Read from the governed coverage rows for this market, not a service brochure.

Door delivery

Door delivery runs on the published Uganda coverage rows — Kampala, Wakiso, Jinja, Mbarara, Gulu — dispatched from Kampala against the cut-off shown for each row. Outside those rows the route is reviewed before an order is accepted, so no window is promised that operations has not signed off.

PUDO collection

Where a buyer cannot take a door delivery, collection is available on the Kampala rows. Points are vetted partner-operated locations, not MFT branches, so the exact point, its opening hours and the collection evidence required travel with the buyer's pickup notification.

Cash on delivery

COD is configured on the Kampala, Wakiso, Jinja, Mbarara, Gulu rows. Collections are taken by cash at the door, mtn momo, airtel money, captured per order in Ugandan shilling (UGX), and reconciled daily, against your order manifest so a payout line can be traced back to a named parcel.

FAQ

Uganda last mile: the questions this raises

Answered from the same governed coverage rows the country page uses.

These are the published service levels on the Uganda coverage rows — Kampala: same day to 1 working day, Wakiso: 1–2 working days, Jinja: 2–3 working days, Mbarara: 2–4 working days and Gulu: 3–5 working days. Dispatch depends on the cut-off (same-day dispatch on orders confirmed before the daily cut-off and scheduled runs — confirmed at onboarding), and the actual window a buyer experiences also depends on customer confirmation, parcel dimensions and the route schedule for that area. For anywhere outside those rows the route is reviewed before an order is accepted; no delivery window is promised until onboarding confirms it.

Collection is available on the Kampala coverage rows in Uganda. These are vetted partner-operated locations, not MFT-owned branches, so the specific collection point, its opening hours, the holding deadline and the collection evidence required are sent to the buyer with the pickup notification rather than published here.

You raise a line-level query using the reconciliation reference or the parcel reference, within the window stated in your service schedule. MFT then reviews the order reference, the delivery or collection reason code, the custody and rider record, the delivery or collection evidence, the amount collected in Ugandan shilling (UGX) and the payout batch the line sits in before the query is closed. Outcomes follow that evidence — no automatic refund and no fixed resolution time are promised unless your contract states one.
